What an incredible holiday season! Gatherings with family and friends and some winter snow. With everyone taking holiday decorations down, the buzz word now is re-decorate. It doesn't mean an overhaul, but just re-distribute, and use what you have to liven up your space. Winter is the perfect time to spruce up your home, and there are simple ways to transform your space and improve your outlook during the winter weeks ahead!
LET THERE BE LIGHT – While we may still want to have a cozy furniture around the fireplace, try moving a comfortable chair by a sunny window for morning coffee or afternoon reading. To bring more light into a room, place a large mirror opposite a window to open up a room - it will double the amount of natural light.
REARRANGE YOUR FURNITURE – Just moving your your furniture or carpet to be on an angle, can bring a fresh looks to a room. It can change the focal point of your room, and give you some new ideas.
CHANGE UP YOUR ACCESSORIES – Just by moving or removing some of your photos and accessories, it can inject new life into a room. Group like colors and fabrics together in uneven numbers. Cover tired pillows with new pillow coversto give some pop to your home. Thoughtfully add back pieces and don’t be afraid to store some things to reintroduce at a later date.
BRING IN THE GREEN - Find your loneliest corner and add a touch of greenery. Paper whites or green plants can really help liven a space. It is a great time to start placing green in all of your rooms. A simple herb garden, hearty ivy or spider plants are all good indoor plants, and putting them in great wooden boxes will do the trick.
ENLIST A FRIEND - Not sure where to start? Have a friend over for a glass of wine and to lend their keen eye on some changes. They might think of things you would never have imagines, but will look great.
Enjoy!
